Answers for PPF, coating & detailing

Everything you need to know before protecting your car at our Vidyaranyapura studio in Bangalore.

01

How long does Paint Protection Film last?

Premium PPF typically lasts 5–10 years with proper care. Longevity depends on film quality, installation precision, Bangalore sun exposure, and how you wash and maintain the vehicle. At Olive Tree Detailing we use self-healing, UV-resistant films built for Indian road conditions.

02

Can PPF be removed without damaging paint?

Yes. When professionally installed and removed, quality TPU film is designed to peel cleanly and leave the factory paint intact. DIY removal can risk adhesive residue or paint lift — always have it handled by trained technicians.

03

Does PPF turn yellow over time?

Modern high-grade films include anti-yellowing technology and stay optically clear under normal use. Cheap or poorly stored films are more likely to discolour — we only recommend proven premium brands for long-term clarity.

04

Which areas should get PPF — or should I go full body?

High-impact zones like the front bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors see the most stone chips. Full body PPF is ideal for new cars, luxury vehicles, and owners who want maximum long-term protection on every painted panel.

05

How long does PPF installation take?

Most jobs take 1–3 days depending on coverage. That includes wash and decontamination, paint correction if needed, precision cutting and install, curing time, and a final quality check before handover.

06

Is ceramic coating better than PPF?

They do different jobs. PPF absorbs stone chips and scratches. Ceramic coating boosts gloss, hydrophobics, and chemical resistance. Many Olive Tree clients use both — PPF on impact areas (or full body) with ceramic on top for easier cleaning and deeper shine.

07

Can I apply ceramic coating over PPF?

Absolutely. Ceramic over PPF is a popular combo. After the film is installed and cured, we apply a nano coating that adds slickness, water beading, and UV support so the protected surface stays cleaner and glossier.

08

How long does ceramic coating last?

Depending on the product and care routine, ceramic coatings typically last 2–5 years. Avoid harsh automatic washes, use pH-neutral soaps, and book periodic maintenance detailing to keep the hydrophobic performance strong.

09

What is paint correction and do I need it?

Paint correction is multi-stage machine polishing that removes swirl marks, oxidation, holograms, and light scratches. It is strongly recommended before PPF or ceramic coating so the protected finish looks deep, clear, and flawless.

10

How often should I detail my car?

We recommend a professional detail every 4–6 months, with gentle maintenance washes in between. Bangalore dust, rain, and traffic film build up quickly — regular care protects both unprotected paint and coated or PPF’d surfaces.

11

What does interior detailing include?

Deep vacuuming, panel and vent cleaning, steam where needed, leather conditioning, plastic and trim dressing, and odour treatment. The goal is a fresh, refined cabin that matches the exterior finish quality.

12

Where is Olive Tree Detailing and how do I book?

We are near Sambrham College, Hesaraghatta Road, Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru 560097. Call +91 78999 11664 or email care@olivetreedetailing.com to book PPF, ceramic coating, or detailing.

13

Is PPF worth it on a brand-new car?

Yes — new cars are the best candidates. Installing PPF early preserves the factory finish, prevents early chips and swirl marks, and helps protect resale value before road damage starts.

14

How should I wash my car after PPF or ceramic coating?

Use a two-bucket or foam wash with pH-neutral shampoo, soft microfibres, and avoid abrasive brushes or harsh automatic tunnels. We share a simple aftercare guide at handover so your protection stays looking new longer.
